It was funfair and an engaging day on Tuesday, as the three Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in Ikorodu Constituency II – Igbogbo/Bayeku, Ijede and Imota held their Mega Rally towards the Saturday, July 12, Local Government Elections.

Members of the party across the three councils trooped out in their large numbers from respective council areas, to embark on a roadshow before converging on the Ajina market square close to the Ranodu palace in Imota, to continue the mass mobilisation and sensitisation of party members and entire residents towards the elections.

The roadshow was massive, and not even the ceaseless rainfall could hindered the long convoy of campaign trains from the three councils from different directions.
The mega rally was also supported by the APC Ikorodu Divisional Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the elections.

The Ikorodu Constituency II representative, Hon. Aro Moshhod Abiodun (AMA), who entered the mega rally ground with a large entourage and with a massive loud shout of AMA!, presented the All Progressives Congress (APC) flags to the APC Chairmanship candidate, Hon. Sunday Benson, his running mate, Princess Abisoye Jimoh and the four Councillorship candidates.

Also at the rally were Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun (HOA), APC Chairmanship candidate, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA with his running mate, Barr. Ade Ayeni; Prince Adedayo Ladega, Chairmanship candidate, Ikorodu Local Government and his co – candidate, Mr Babawale Alogba.

The apex Divisional leader commended the APC Chairmanship candidate in Imota LCDA, Hon. Sunday Benson, for his service to the party and for his loyalty to the incumbent council chairmen in Imota LCDA, Hon. Wasiu Agoro, whom he is serving under as Vice Chairman.

He charged him to use his wealth of experience and capacity to deliver good governance in Imota.

On his own, Hon. Nurudeen Saka Solaja, former representative of Ikorodu Constituency II and the Chairman/Director – General, APC Local Organising Committee (LOC), Imota LCDA, urged entire residents to translate their massive support to massive votes on Saturday, for the entire APC candidates.

He said that the votes are important to prove why the Imota LCDA and others created by President Tinubu while he was governor of Lagos State, should be made a full fledged council area.

Welcoming the entire leadership, candidates and members of APC in Ikorodu Division to Imota, Hon. Wasiu Agoro, Chairman, Imota LCDA and LOC Co – Chairman, stated that the LCDA is now turning to be the headquarters of Ikorodu Division with everyone identifying with it.

He appreciated the party for the opportunity given to him to serve as Chairman for eight years.

While eulogizing the competence of his Vice who is now the Chairmanship candidate of the party, to serve, Hon. Agoro said that the coming election is just a formality because he has already handed over the baton to him.

Agoro also emphasised that there is proper organization and arrangement within the APC in Imota LCDA which, according to him, resulted in the current Vice Chairman, Hon. Sunday Benson, emerging as the Chairmanship candidate to succeed him; serving as the Supervisor for Works, Princess Abisoye Jimoh as Vice Chairmanship candidate and also the four Councillorship candidates also part of the outgoing administration, a feat he said is exceptional and not obtainable in any council in the state.

Hon. Lanre Balogun, former Commissioner and Director – General Ikorodu Division APC LG Elections Campaign, commended Imota for its organization and development, and also commended party members for their support towards propagating party’s candidates all over the Ikorodu Division.

While urging party members to get their PVC ready for the elections, the Divisional LOC DG also charged them to intensify their mobilization of residents to turn out en masse for the council elections.

Otunba Olasunkanmi Tijani, Divisional APC Chairman, among others that spoke appealed to members of the party and residents, while charging all the party members to see themselves as canvassers and must reach out to residents and urged them to come out to vote.
